The iT’s Replicated solution uses a VPN (Virtual Private Network) between your site and our hosting facility to transfer data. XO Soft replication software is installed on your server then the server is cloned and placed in our hosting facility. Once the clone is up and running, the servers are configured to allow both to run and then the data to replicate is selected in XO Soft.
When this has all been set up, replication can begin. Once the data is synchronized, a failover can be initiated at any time (only to be used for disaster purposes). Once running on the IT Authorities virtual backup servers, the XO Soft replication software will resynchronize with the production site when it is ready. Failback can occur at any time once the resynchronization is complete.
Simulated testing can occur at any time without disruption to the end users. This testing will allow the backup systems to come online and be tested for functionality. Once testing is complete, they will resume normal replication.
NOTE: This is a simulated failover – not an actual failover as the actual can cause disruption to end users.
Backups - Systems are backed up using imaging (clone) technology. These images will be maintained by IT Authorities and retained for 1 week. Additional backup options such as email (brick) level and archival can be added using the iT’s Backed Up plan.
