You may see reports in the news about a new critical vulnerability that applies to most Microsoft server and workstation operating systems. Microsoft has taken the unusual step of making patches available for unsupported operating systems including Windows 7 and Server 2008 for this patch. All servers and workstations under IT Authorities management (iT’s Managed) will be deploying this patch automatically as part of your patching service, and no action is required on your part to complete this update.

Basic authentication deprecation in Exchange Online will retire October 22, 2022 – Critical
Microsoft will retire Basic Authentication beginning October 2022. After the retirement, legacy protocols like Exchange Web Services (EWS), Exchange Active Sync (EAS), IMAP4, POP3, and Remote PowerShell (RPS) won’t be able to connect to Exchange Online using Basic Auth.
