Microsoft New Commerce Experience (NCE)

Microsoft created seat-based cloud offers on the New Commerce Experience (NCE) for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Windows 365.

What is Microsoft's New Commerce Experience (NCE)?

Microsoft created seat-based cloud offers on the New Commerce Experience (NCE) for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Windows 365. The new commerce experience is part of a transformational journey that’s changing the way customers transact with Microsoft, bringing you more flexibility to mix and match your Microsoft cloud subscriptions. As your trusted advisor, we want to make sure you and your team are aware of this new information and how it impacts your business.

To change current commercial 365 licenses to the new Microsoft New Commerce Experience (NCE) licensing plan:

This change in licensing plans must occur either by 8/31/22, or before your next licensing renewal date, whichever is sooner. IT Authorities will work with you to make the changes based on your choice of plan options below.

The new NCE plan offers these term options:

1 Year: If you choose a ‘1 year’ term, the amount can be paid annually or monthly:

  • For example, a Business Basic license on the 1 year plan will be $72 per year per user, but this can be paid as $72 annually or $6 per month
  • You can upgrade licenses as needed, but you cannot downgrade or cancel licenses during the term

Monthly: If you choose a ‘monthly’ term, the cost per license will be 20% additional:

  • For example, a Business Basic license on the monthly plan will be $7.20 per user per month
  • You can change licenses as needed without concern about term lengths

To choose the right plan for you, IT Authorities recommends that you review your FTE vs your Seasonal employees. We can utilize this information to create the right mix for your company without incurring unnecessary charges. As always, if an employee leaves and is replaced, you can easily transfer the license
